This is too cool. A very useful site called England Rocks.

This is what the hip internet folks call a “mashup”. You click on the landmarks on the map and get information on famous rock and roll landmarks in England.

Bono’s Business Empire

I normally concentrate on the independent side of the music business, but this article is fascinating…at the fairly highbrow Bloomberg too. Details of the business empire of Bono (and U2 to a certain extent)…

These are some smart guys - and this is an example to me of how all successful musicians should run their business.

“U2 are arch-capitalists—arch-capitalists—but it looks as if they’re not,” says Jim Aiken, a music promoter who helped stage U2 concerts in Ireland during the 1980s and ’90s.

Song of the Week for February 18, 2007

A very nice edgy tune for everyone this Sunday…and this one’s extra special, because I’m putting this one out just for you to celebrate the release of the debut CD by The Playing Fields - Hello New World. The song of the week from this new CD by The Playing Fields is “Nonesuch Nameless”.

The CD is getting its UK release on the 26th of February. The band is also having a big CD release gig/party at Camden Barfly in London on March 2nd.
